A vacancy exists for a Metrology Lab Supervisor at our client’s manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting the development and manufacturing processes. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage people and processes effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Management

  • Supervise daily laboratory activities to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols
  • Oversee maintenance, calibration, quality control, and validation of laboratory instruments and procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory results

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and manage quality control systems to ensure continuous production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Apply quality planning tools including Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Dimensional Analysis, and Capability Studies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven methods

Team Leadership

  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance management for laboratory personnel
  • Establish training goals for new hires and monitor development progress
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and departmental reviews

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Metrology Laboratory and related quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Good knowledge of quality methodologies such as FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and related tools
  • Tooling background will be an advantage

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards
  • Practical application of quality planning and assurance methodologies
