Objective

The objective of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to conduct effective first and second-party audits of an organization’s quality management system (QMS) based on IATF 16949:2016 requirements. The course also introduces the auditing principles and techniques from ISO 19011:2018, ensuring participants can plan, conduct, and report audits proficiently.

Content

This course covers:

  • An overview of IATF 16949:2016, including key clauses and requirements related to the audit process.
  • Understanding ISO 19011:2018 as a guideline for auditing management systems, including audit principles and techniques.
  • Audit planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up on non-conformities.
  • Review of core areas like leadership commitment, risk-based thinking, product realization, and continual improvement as they relate to auditing.
  • Conducting audits to assess compliance with customer-specific requirements and organizational processes.

Participants will gain practical experience conducting mock audits, reviewing audit findings, and applying corrective actions.

Assessment

Participants will be assessed through a written multiple-choice exam and a practical audit exercise. Successful participants will receive a competence certificate for First and Second Party Auditing.

Pre-Requisites

Participants should have a basic understanding of quality management principles, good knowledge of ISO 9001, the IATF 16949:2016 standard, and familiarity with automotive core tools (such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC). Prior experience in QMS or auditing is recommended.
